One Year Down....

Today was my last day of school with my kiddos.  It was a short week and only about half of my class showed up--- it's getting so hot here that a lot of people are already traveling for the summer.  What a year it's been!  I can't believe how fast it's gone!  I had such a great group of kids and parents this year, I'm sad it's over.... I am getting really excited for next year though!  I got some beautiful flowers today and some other gifts, as well.
For the next two days, we are packing up our rooms as they are used for summer school and covering everything to protect it from the dust.  I've decided I need to start staying up later now that I don't have to get up as early, so that when I'm in Europe, at home and on the ship I'll be able to live in the real world where people don't go to bed at 8 pm and wake up at 4 am on a regular basis.  I can't remember if I put this in an older post, but I found out I'm getting a StarBoard in my classroom for next year!  It is a brand of an Interactive Whiteboard and I am so excited to use it with my kids!

I am getting ready for my trip to Europe--- starting to think about packing (I'll probably wait until the day before I leave...), looking up things to do and places to enjoy a cold beverage or two, and finalizing where I'm going to stay.  I can't wait to meet up with my friends from HAL that I haven't seen in years!  Ship life is crazy, but I've made some of the greatest friends and I am looking forward to catching up with them in Salzburg and Vienna.  In Salzburg, I'm really excited to go on the Sound of Music tour.  Yep.  I'm a nerd.  Okay.  I'll be honest.  I'm REALLY, REALLY excited to go on the Sound of Music tour.  I watched it last weekend.  I'll probably watch it again this week before I go.  I might even download the soundtrack, so I can listen to the songs in the different parts of the city where they were filmed.  Ok... maybe not, but at least I've admitted I had the idea. :)

I can't believe that three weeks from today, I will be waking up at home in Oregon!  My next blog post will probably be from Frankfurt, after my two weeks traveling around Heidelberg, Munich, Salzburg and Vienna!  Until then.......
Cheers!
