Where does the time go? I leave for Kuwait a week from today (technically, because it's 12:30 am). After leaving the Oosterdam I came back to the coast for a month. I kept busy by sleeping, working out, doing some work, sleeping more and visiting friends. On August 4th, I took the train up to Seattle where I spent a few days with my aunt and bummed around Seattle taking pictures. August 7th, I walked back onto the Oosterdam...this time as a "friend on board." I think the definition of this, if you look it up in a cruise ship dictionary, is "doesn't work, drinks all night and sleeps until noon." It was pretty great. I just bought a new camera and tried it out while we were in Glacier Bay. Not like I don't already have a thousand (literally) pictures of Glacier Bay.
I went to Fortress of the Bear in Sitka and saw some orphaned Brown Bears, which was so COOL!
I spent the majority of my days sleeping in, reading or playing scrabble. I'll give you one guess as to what I was doing in the evening.... I can tell you my liver is recovering now. When I got off the Oostie, my best friend Luana picked me up and we enjoyed a wonderful brunch to celebrate her birthday. Now, I'm home at the coast again....
My grandpa and his significant other just arrived and will be staying for several days. I am having a "good-bye party" this weekend as a last send-off (or excuse to drink in public). I am so excited to see everyone! That being said.... I am sitting here staring at a pile of five duffel bags full of clothes and shoes.... I guess I should start packing soon. I probably won't update this until I'm in Kuwait and have found some access to internet. I fly out August 23rd, arrive August 24th and then have orientation and other things before school starts on September 6th. Please keep in touch through email!!!! meggo2002@gmail.com The regular mail system in Kuwait is not so wonderful, I'm told..... So, email or skype please!
Cheers,
Megan
